A Good Woman

* A good woman is proud. She respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, nor does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs.

* A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.

* A good woman has a dash of inspiration and a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will at times have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them.

* A good woman knows her past, understands her present and forces toward the future.

* A good woman knows God. She knows that with God the world is her playground, but without God she will just be played with.

* A good woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons meant to bring her closer to self-knowledge and unconditional self-love.

Real Friend Test

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest. A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself (and doesn’t feel even the least bit
weird shutting your ‘vegetable drawer’ with her foot!)

A simple friend has never seen you cry. A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn’t know your parents’ first names. A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party. A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after they’ve gone to bed. A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems. A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history. A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument. A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them. A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Why God Made Eve

10. God was worried that Adam would frequently
become lost in the garden because he would
not ask for directions.

9. God knew that one day Adam would require
someone to locate and hand him the remote.

8. God knew Adam would never go out and buy
himself a new fig leaf when his wore out and would
therefore need Eve to buy one for him.

7. God knew Adam would never be able to make a
doctor’s dentist’s or haircut appointment by himself.

6. God knew Adam would never remember which night
to put the garbage on the curb.

5. God knew if the world was to be populated, men
would never be able to handle the pain and
discomfort of childbearing.

4. As the Keeper of the Garden, Adam would never
remember where he left his tools.

3. Apparently, Adam needed someone to blame his
troubles on when God caught him hiding in the
garden.

2. As the Bible says, “It is not good for man to be
alone.”

And, finally, the Number 1 reason why
God created Eve….

1. When God finished the creation of Adam, He
stepped back, scratched his head, and said, “I can
do better than that!”

Florence Nightingale

“If I could give you information of my life it would be to show how a woman of very ordinary ability has been led by God in strange and unaccustomed paths to do in His service what He has done in her. And if I could tell you all, you would see how God has done all, and I nothing. I have worked hard, very hard, that is all; and I have never refused God anything.”–Florence Nightingale

The Company You Keep

It is better to be alone than in the wrong company.

Tell me who your best friends are and I will tell you who you are.

If you run with wolves, you will learn to howl, but if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

A mirror reflects a man’s face, but what he is really like is shown by the kinds of friends he chooses.  The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate, for the good and for the bad.  Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity.

As you grow, your associates will change. Some of you friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are.  Friends that don’t help you to climb will want you to crawl.  Your freinds will stretch your vision or choke your dream.  Those that don’t increase you will eventually decrease you.

Consider this:

Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your problems with someone unable of contributing to the solution, because those that never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how to.

Not everyone has a right to speak into your life.

You are certain to get the worst bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person.

Don’t follow anyone who’s not going anywhere.

With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it.

Be careful when you stop to inquire directions along the road of life.

Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships.

Happy moments, praise God
Difficult moments, seek God
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God
Every moment, thank God

If you see people without a smile today, give them one of yours.
Choose to rise…don’t settle…and go for your dreams.
And most of all, let God lead you in everything you do!
